Eligibility & Age Limit

Candidates applying for the UPSC Civil Services Mains 2026 must meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum Age: 21 Years as on 01 August 2026
  • Maximum Age: 32 Years as on 01 August 2026
  • Age relaxation will be applicable as per the UPSC Civil Services IAS/IFS Recruitment Rules.
  • Educational Qualification: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's Degree in any stream from a recognized university in India. Additionally, candidates with a Bachelor's Degree where one of the subjects was Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology, or Agriculture (or an equivalent qualification) are also eligible.

Application Fee

The application fee structure for the Mains examination is as follows:

  • General / EWS / OBC Candidates: Rs. 100/-
  • SC / ST / Female / PH Candidates: Rs. 0/-

Examination fees can be paid exclusively through online modes such as Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
